Who should I see? – We can guide you on the best care for your needs.

Booking an Appointment

We offer a range of same-day, advanced booking, and urgent appointments, which will be face-to-face or telephone.  We will endeavour to provide you with the most suitable appointment or refer you to the best care pathway, and where possible with a preferred GP.

 

For same-day appointments or urgent care (that is not life-threatening):

  • Call 01792 581666 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6.30pm.

  • Visit the Surgery Reception, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6.00pm.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.   We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse, or other health professional to help you.

Same-day appointments will be offered to children under 16 with urgent acute presentations.

We place additional staff on our telephones at busier times, receptionists endeavour to answer your call as soon as possible. All calls are recorded for staff training and volumes are monitored.

 

To request a non-urgent, pre-bookable appointment in the next 7 – 21 days:

  • Call 01792 581666 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

  • Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist.

When you email, please include: Patient Name, Date of Birth, Telephone Number and basic details about your request / reason for appointment.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

  • To cancel an appointment today – call 01792 581666

  • To cancel a future dated appointment either call us or email: FMG.switch@wales.nhs.uk

  • You can use the NHS app in the future, but this feature is currently unavailable in Wales.

Please allow up to 72 hours for all email responses (excludes weekends and other closures).

If you need help when we are closed

For life-threatening medical emergencies dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

For urgent medical advice between 6.30pm and 8.30am weekdays, or during weekends and Bank Holidays, use NHS 111.

For children under 5 phone 111.

For people aged 5 and over go to the 111.nhs.uk website.

 

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone or face-to-face.
  • If you need an interpreter.
  • If you have any other access or communication needs.

 

Entitlement to a Consultation

  • Newly registered patients are welcome to attend for an initial consultation within 6 months of their registration date.
  • Temporary residents – you are entitled to see a GP anywhere in the UK if you are away from home and in need of medical help. Please make sure you give us the name and address of your home GP so that details of your consultation can be sent to them.
  • Practitioner preference – if you have a preference of which GP you wish to be seen by, please specify to reception when booking your appointment. Where it is both appropriate and possible our team will endeavour to arrange the appointment with a GP of your choice.
  • Patients aged 75 and over may request a consultation if they have not had a consultation within the last 12 months.
  • Patients aged 16 and over may request a consultation if they have not had a consultation or attended a clinic at the surgery within the last 3 years
